I read 60 titles in 2021. Among my favorites were Tamara Shopsin’s Laserwriter II, Oliver Burkeman’s Four Thousand Weeks and John Steinbeck’s Tortilla Flats.

Also informative were Jess McHugh’s Americanon, Sarah Vowell’s Unfamiliar Fishes, Keith Payne’s The Broken Ladder, Michael Moss’ Salt, Sugar, Fat and Adam Grant’s Think Again.

Re-reading classics almost always brings some joy, too. Certainly, that was the case with Noah Adams’ Saint Croix Notes and Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises (accompanied by Lesley Blume’s Everybody Behaves Badly).
